Post 7: Changes to my study programme.
Hello everyone
Some of the changes I would make for my career and its curriculum are associated with structural reforms, not only at the higher education level, but also at the elementary and middle school level. I think we should adopt and adapt Finland's proposal. Where they reformed their entire structure in pedagogy, from their curriculum, their teaching strategies, their infrastructure, evaluations, etc.
At the undergraduate level, I would keep all the courses and integrate a single course on How do you learn? where study techniques, scientific thinking and factors that, according to research, can facilitate learning would be explained. A good example for this would be to use "Dehaene", a French researcher who tried to know about this process.
Both the workload and the duration of the study would remain the same, although the goal would be to prioritize experiential learning over theoretical learning. The infrastructure would be modified to focus more on hands-on and group activities and experiments. Technologies such as video games and digital activities would be included.
As for teaching methods, I believe that scientifically proven study techniques should be included, from neuroscience, experimental psychology and pedagogy. Something very similar to what has been done in Finland, where the learning of its population has shined, all thanks to the efforts of its leaders, teachers, principals, parents and politicians, who understood how important it is to invest in the education of their children, who will be in charge of their future.

I remember seeing a video about Finland's education in school. I was blown away. We definitely have to implement some things from there.
ResponderEliminarVery interesting proposal. To that, I would add the development of soft skills, which are highly underestimated in the Chilean educational system.
ResponderEliminarIt looks very interesting from the course that I would add to the curriculum.
